Construction is underway! Help us finish the remodel of the Education Labs and fully stock the classrooms and new MakerSpace for the Spring semester! All donations will directly benefit the educational programming at the Amarillo Museum of Art.
AMoA focuses on art exhibitions and education. Each year the Museum presents approximately fifteen exhibitions representing original works in all media, periods, and styles, ranging from cutting edge to traditional. The Museum makes a conscious effort to recognize and encourage local and regional artists through a variety of events including the AMoA Open, AC/WTAMU Student and Faculty Exhibition, Texas Panhandle Student Art Show and the 12x12 Exhibition and Silent Auction. Educational programming includes lectures, gallery talks and Museum School art classes and camps. AMoA also impacts our community and the Texas Panhandle through outreach to schools and senior facilities, docent-led school museum tours, teacher in-service programming, digital programming, Family Days and collaborations with local cultural organizations to name a few. Museum events encourage community engagement while allowing visitors and patrons of all ages to interact with works of art in an inspiring and creative environment.
Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 1979, the Museum makes a significant contribution to intellectual and cultural resources in the Panhandle by committing to excellence in museum standards and best practices. In 2017, attendance reached 35,000+ and touched the lives of 7000+ students with the assistance of our strong core of volunteers and supporters.
The Amarillo Museum of Art is dedicated to enriching the lives of the diverse people of the Texas Panhandle area, bringing them together for the experience of art through exhibitions, education and collections.
